Either way, it would be interesting to hear his take.

On the boards where people are freer to say what they think, it's getting some angy responses:

Oh, I don't know, you've had time to be angry and say your piece, without any obstruction on your free thoughts here.

I'm just not sure of two things:

1. Why Mr. Marz chooses to respond to you at all, as he has done on other questions.

2. Why you think a freelance contributor gets to control which DC characters live and die.

From the Marz Needs Questions thread:

Obviously I knew what Jade's fate was going to be, and I knew there would be a reaction. It was an internal DC decision, but I assure you the pros and cons were debated at length. These kind of decisions are not made cavalierly. That said, I can't speak to the specifics very much, because I'm not the one who wrote the issue.

Guys, lets keep this about the topic, not about posters.

Thanks.

Tim, I had nothing to do with NCSI, in fact, I did not see the episode. But with Infinite Crisis each mod here was asked to give a "kill" list to Geoff, Ben already revealed his in another thread, but I really can't say who everyone else had. Sorry.

And, if anyone believes me, check out my eBay auction of The Brooklyn Bridge.

I can't find the link but I was curious as to what the shipping costs will be. I currently live in the Tri-State area so If I'm the winning bidder I can pick it up.

Do you take paypal?

Hey, look, the people at the DC boards are raging on about something. I'd compare it to monkeys flinging poo, but that's kind of an insult to monkeys.

Anyway, at the risk of beating a dead horse, Jade's death was an editorial decision. If you're looking for me to "name names," I can't give you a specific person because I don't know who made the ultimate call. My assumption is that it was intended to show that there are casualties in war, as well as pare characters considered redundant. Whether or not I agree with that decision is immaterial.

Yup, I will send you a certificate, just show it to anyone that questions you when you pick it up.

I want to be there the first time Jeff shows up at the toll booths to take "his" money waving that certificate around. I'm bringing a lawnchair, a pitching of Guiness and a camcorder...

Wait Kyle who’s the latest in a line of five, male, chosen, earth born, GLs? And somehow Jade is considered the redundant one out?
The only female, the only one born with the powers internalized literally the next step in the evolution of GLs.
She was the most unique one!
The way I figure, Kyle had become the redundant one, so they offed Jade and gave him her powers.
A shrewd business decision, but only because he would sell the most books.
But she only became redundent after the fact Hence her lovely demise in RTspecial.

If DC editorial etc. was considering Jade (or any hero with GL-type powers for that matter) redundant around the same time the GL Corps (cool but the ultimate form of a power's redundancy) was being relaunched they would seem awfully hypocritical

Jade: I'll take care of it for you, Obie.

Atom: Obie!? You call a thing like that--OBIE??
