The Pre-Xorn Xorn.

At first it was MM in disguise..then it turned out that there was a real Bloodwynd. I'm sure others could provide major details.

Martian Manhunter was revealed to be Bloodwynd in the last two parts of the "Destiny's Hand" storyline in Justice League of America, which by the by Beetle had deduced but had fallen into a coma from the beating down Doomsday gave them all, before he could reveal what he knew.
I remember there was some sort of psychic parasite that had bonded to J'onn, but don't remeber the particulars, hopefully someone else can be more help.

Here you go, from DCU Guide:

The descendant of a group of black slaves who created the blood gem, Bloodwynd is the inheritor of its great mystical power. He encountered the Justice League when a being inside the gem grew over-powerful, causing Bloodwynd great pain. The hero Martian Manhunter came to his assistance, but became fused with the gem, while Bloodwynd was trapped inside it. As Bloodwynd, Martian Manhunter joined the League, completely unaware of his true identity, until this was uncovered by Blue Beetle. The heroes of the League, with help from the Atom, then rescued Bloodwynd from inside the gem. He became a member of the Justice League for a short while, but was sometimes guided by the demands of fate over what he sees to be right. He is still semi-active as a hero, but generally either alone or with a grouping of other mystical beings.

He was a cool character, with a great uniform and a magical being. Someone should definitelly use him and define more his powers. I don't think he is cut for JLA, but maybe global guardians, shadowpact, as a checkmate agent or even Outsiders, I can definitelly see him being edgy.
He is one interestingl character that is waiting to be used, before he is killed in a big croosver event.

Same here. He was in the Sentinels of Magic. Why weren't they used in Day of Vengance? Could be that they were waylaid in the Spectre's initiall attack.

Lot's of potential in the character, and now that there's no "official" Dr. Fate, it would be a good time to showcase him.

I bet they make him the new Dr. Fate. that way, they can shoehorn another minority character into their stable without creating a new one

yes folks, that was sarcasm. I too am Bloodwynd fan (one of the only good DC characters to come out of the 90s IMO) and would like to see more done with him... I thought the Shadowpact would have been a perfect team for him... oh well.

no more trunks over pants! Supes and Bats kept that look, but they're more iconic... even Hal got rid of them with his "rebirth"!

It's curious that Bloodwynd is never shown even as a cameo in these big crossovers. Did he even make it into Day of Judgment and the Sentinels of Magic? I thought for sure we would have seen a glimpse of him in Day of Vengeance, but I guess not. Hopefully, he'll pop up in Shadowpact eventually. We could always write DC asking for a guest appearance.

Maybe he's been Superboy-Prime-Punched into never having existed.

I thought he was in DoV #1 in the Oblivion bar. If not, I am pretty sure he was in DoV at some point (I would need to go back and look).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodwynd says he was in JLA Black Baptism about the same time as Days of Judgment.

I looked pretty hard through DoV #1 and didn't see him. It's possible I missed him, but I don't think so.

Black Baptism was after DoJ, but I don't recall seeing him in either. Although I could be wrong.

Brian-you are right. I looked thru DoV 1-6 & the Special as well as Infinite Crisis #6 & #7. No Bloodwynd at all which is a surprise with Amethyst and others return.

I know it's weird because some much more obscure characters made it in there. The guy was a member of the JLA afterall.

When I move my books out of storage I'll have to check to see if he shows up in those other stories.

I think I'm gonna write DC and ask for a guest appearance.

Terrible, terrible name. Back in the 90s we were plagued with characters whose names were misspelled to be 'kewl', and even when spelled properly meant nothing. Guy calling him "Breakwynd" made me s******, though.
