Default Azrael: Death's Dark Knight #2 Discussion Thread (with Preview)

Fabian Nicieza and Frazer Irving's Azreal mini continues on April 22nd.

Preview at IGN.com: http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/973/973152p1.html

And I must say wow! Just wow!

The art is great, as is the writing. Lane's personal tragedies are intense.

Loved issue #1, cant wait to read issue #2!

Really enjoyed this issue.

The opening page, flashing through Lane's life and his sins and tragedies was pretty intense.

We got some pretty great action in this issue too...

SPOILER. Highlight below text to read
...when Lane fights back against the League of Assassins. Burning swords make for an awesome visual! Lane's attempts at banter were okay too. Not cocky in the Spider-Man sense but trying to act all tough guy with all the assassins about.

I liked though, how the action stopped when Talia mentioned the curse. Cue change of scenery and a civilised discussion before later confronting the Order of Purity and seeing the effect the Suit might have on him.

Good stuff.

I'm liking how the detective angle of Bullock and Harper's investigation is continuing from last issue too.

We get Lane giving a form of confession, a nice scene between Nightwing and Oracle (Babs watches Lost! Indeed!)

Cool stuff. Fantastic art from Frazer Irving and a Nightwing fight next issue!

I hope we get another mini or an ongoing from this team. I couldn't imagine that anyone could take a minor character from Morrison's Batman run and develop him into an intriguing character with huge potential for future stories.

I'm hoping he gets his own book!

Or at least another mini!

With Fabian writing of course and Frazer Irving hopefully doing more art (though I know he's not really a monthly guy).

This issue was much better than the first, see he did what I wanted focus more on Michael which is what the mini needs to do.

I hope they get a better artist I mean Frazer doesn't just have the right style for Azrael in my opinion.

I also loved Babs' Lost line that was great.

Michael Lane if you remember Grant's Black Casebook arc in Batman he is the third of the Batmen that showed up.
