Default The most awesome characters ever

This thread is dedicated to the characters that were far too awesome for their time, concepts that were just too righteous for the reading public to grasp and appreciate.

I submit, for your approval:

DARK CLAW | DARK CLAW | DARK CLAW | DARK CLAW | DARK CLAW

"Dark Claw is a fictional Amalgam Comics superhero. He is a combination of Marvel Comics' Wolverine and DC Comics' Batman"

There ain't no way anyone could deal with that much concentrated bad ass existing within the same time and space.

Still one of my "most fun" books was the 2nd Spiderboy story that crossed over with the LSH concept - come on - the parody of the 5YG was worth the cover price all by itself. Then the roll call pages ...

I'm gonna go with the Hitman, Tommy Monaghan. Sure, his run went 60 issues and he even had a JLA special last year but it never seemed like he got enough props. Ennis' other titles always seem to get more press and, to the best of my knowledge, Hitman still isn't a complete trade series. I don't know if it was because he came from the Bloodlines series of characters or what, but considering how funny and personal Garth Ennis' writing was and how utterly tone-perfect John McCrea's art was, I find it amazing that this title and this character aren't held in high esteem.

Seconded on Hitman, Thirded on Monolith, and a vote for Captain Atom (Cary Bates run more than proved Cap could offer, not just clever stories, but clever science fiction as well in the right hands).

Bate's Capt Atom and O'Neils Question remain 2 of my favourites from the late 80's
