Presumably Time-Warner. I understand King Tut is going to be making an appearance in Batman Confidential.

It's my understanding that the rights to the Batman TV series are pretty mixed up right now, which is one of the reasons it's not out on DVD.

A more serious King Tut could be a good Hawkman villian.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that DC/Warner own all the characters, but the company that produced the show (who escapes me at the moment) owns the actual production itself. Hence trouble.

We did write a King Tut story. But we weren't able to name him William Omaha McElroy. It wasn't because of specific legal concerns, but rather a preemptive plan to avoid any legal issues.

I suppose it's not like anyone can really trademark "King Tut."

What about Egghead? Seriously, he was the only villain created for that show that actually deserves to be brought over to the comics.
Batman really doesn't have a villain on par with him intellectually and preparation wise (except for Ra's, but his shtick is more shrouded in mystery and ancient secrets) |

The Siren? Louis the Lilac? Those English people that ran the criminal boarding school full of hot girls? Olga, Queen of the Bessarovian Cossacks? There's GOLD in them thar' hills. |

Marsha was awesome. There should be more stories about villains trying to trick Batman into marrying them.

And Marsha, Egghead, King Tut and Bookworm were referenced as "real" in the mainstream DCU by no less a person than Neil Gaiman when he has the Riddler lament their absence in a "Secret Origins" comic. |
