Anniversary Issues

The SHIELD comic itself was a nice tie-up with some of the history of SHIELD stuff that has come and gone without really solving anything (but making use of two pages of unused Kirby art).

The Howling Commandos preview was actually pretty good. Mind you I have a soft spot for Marvel's monsters anyhow.

The reprint of the first SHIELD comic was fun. I don't think I've ever read the pre-Steranko SHIELD comic, so hadn't read this before.

QUAKE #1 - It seemed a very slight story; very character focused and as it was set in the past the dilemma and character concerns didn't seem immediate. It was well done and entertaining, but I think it could have been better.

MOCKINGBIRD #1 - This seemed to be a better story than QUAKE; not being set in the past meant the action seemed immediate. Wasn't much mystery despite being presented as a mystery. But enjoyable regardless.
