The truth issue is bigger than the lasso issue. It gets more at the Hitchhiker's Guide scenario. If you are asking the universe itself a question (with the lasso around it!) you would get pure unadulterated truth. Ask a person with the lasso around them, and you will only get the truth - as limited by their human experience and perception.
Whether the lasso can access the subconscious - or only the conscious - part of the brain remains to be seen. Only way to test the theory would be to take a mindwipe victim and ask them a question they were programmed NOT to know. Same with an amnesia victim. Don't recall Diana running into that actual scenario. Or here's another similar scenario...Diana throws the lasso around Donna and demands "who are you really?"
