Okay, I finally read this last night. What can I say? It isn't tonally reflective of the last Blue Beetle - which is a bad thing.

The art is nice, and the writing is fine, except for the whole tone of the book, but this is not the Blue Beetle I want to read, especially if the character relocates sans supporting cast.

That was my reaction too, and why I reluctantly dropped the title. I enjoy the character & the concept, but I just can't support what they're doing with it.

You have to wonder who is setting the tone in the editorial department at DC. Alien paranoia, outlandish violence & death, the absolute lack of humor and fun in pretty much every title.

And after mulling it over, that is me 'done' with Blue Beetle'. To much grim-dark, too little fun, and an opening arc that was spread way too thin for me (I am sorry but from getting from A to B could have been achieved much more quickly, and it is not as though the supporting cast has been hugely fleshed out prior to seemingly being abandoned which if it is the case, makes it all kind of pointless, doesn't it?).
