Those rock.

"Have some candy!"
"That says 'rat poison'"
"...I wish I could read"

Poor Cass.

Just wait until you get to the newer ones, particularly the ones involving Hal Jordan.

I've been feeling very ill all weekend (flu), but these little strips cheered me. Thank you!

Impulse September 18th, 2006 04:03 AM

I freaking love this strip!

TalonTheater September 18th, 2006 05:17 AM

Spelled "incentive" wrong. ;)

I didn't really understand the DiDio one so if someone can please explain it to me, I would greatly appreciate it! :)

Which Didio one? :D

Ohoni September 18th, 2006 06:18 PM

This one?

It's a play on how horrible, out of character, and ridiculous Cassandra's dialog was in Robin. The top-hat and mustache was a play on old-school serial villains, known for their campy monologing and mustache twirling, such as this guy:
Dick Dastardly

And also this guy:

Snidely Whiplash

I'm glad you folks enjoy them :D

Although some of them are rather topical in retrospect, such as commenting on what people say in interviews and all that.

Here's a very recent one, made today as a matter of fact, with a Preacher homage;

Oh my God, you have no idea how often I want to do that. It's sometimes painful being a writer/editor by nature, especially in the grammatical no man's land known as the internet. ;)

Blight September 19th, 2006 12:39 AM

You know maybe you should start numbering these Drink I mean their well over 100 how do you know the order? Still the latest one was great with Tim meeting the well I can't spoil the hilarity of it :p

Impulse September 19th, 2006 03:45 AM

I spent a sizable chunk of yesterday catching up on these Casstoons - they're really good, all of them!

I really think you guys should set up a website for these <easier said than done, I know...> as they're a really positive form of protest over the crappy treatment Cass has had. Rather than frothing vitriol over a character's turn, as in the case of a certain character <Jade Torch, or something... :p>, these point out just how out of character, illogical and forced Cass' switch to villainy was in a humourous manner.

Okay, I'm getting tired of this! I mean, the writer has told everyone time and time again that we haven't seen the full story yet!

Yeah, and we've told them time and time again that we don't care about that, we don't like what we're seeing so far or where it looks to be going. We've reached a bit of an impasse in that regard. The only resolution to this fiasco that would give me any positive sense about the whole thing is if it turns out that Cassie has been undercover the entire time, as she was in JLE, and even then it'd be a ho hum resolution to a bad situation. It would explain the campy dialog at least, as she's by no means a professional actress, and could easilly have based her performance on bad kung-fu movies.
